Build Overview
This guide focuses on a beginner-friendly Strength/Faith hybrid that uses a shield, simple buffs, and a straightforward melee weapon.
- Class recommendation: Vagabond or Confessor
- Difficulty target: First playthrough, minimal deaths
- Goal: Reach Liurnia with a +4–+5 weapon and 25+ Vigor
Early Stat Goals (Levels 1–40)
- Vigor: **25**
- Endurance: **18**
- Strength: **24**
- Faith: **18**
Why These Numbers Matter
25 Vigor gives enough HP to survive most early bosses.
24 Strength lets you wield many greatswords and greatshields.
18 Faith opens up basic buffs and heals.
Step 1 – Limgrave Safe Route
1. From First Step Site of Grace, ignore the Tree Sentinel.
2. Ride to Church of Elleh, buy the Crafting Kit.
3. Unlock Torrent at Gatefront Ruins.
4. Grab the Whetstone Knife from the underground chest.
5. Pick up the Limgrave West Map Fragment north of the camp.
Secrets & Loot
- Check the ruined carriage south of Gatefront for extra **Smithing Stones [1]**.
- There's a Golden Rune hidden behind the standing gravestones southeast of the camp.
Step 2 – Weeping Peninsula Detour
Before pushing Stormveil, ride south over the large bridge to Weeping Peninsula:
1. Activate all Sites of Grace on the main road.
2. Clear Castle Morne for a strong spirit ash and smithing stones.
3. Grab the map fragment and Sacred Tear from the church.
Lore Note – The Fallen South
Weeping Peninsula's ruined gallows and abandoned battlements underline how Godrick's rule has failed even his own soldiers; their corpses still face north, toward Stormveil.
Step 3 – Basic Weapon Progression
Recommended path:
- Start with your class weapon.
- Switch to a **Claymore** or **Lordsworn's Greatsword** once you find one.
- Infuse with **Sacred** once you get Holy scaling.
Upgrade plan:
- +3 before Margit
- +5 before Godrick
Step 4 – First Legacy Dungeon Checklist
Before entering Stormveil Castle, make sure you have:
- 25 Vigor
- A +3–+4 weapon
- At least one spirit ash (Lone Wolves or better)
- A few **Boluses** crafted for bleed and poison
