Fragments of a Forgotten Reflection
The Sundering split reality into thirteen reflections. Many are well-documented; others remain shadows in the lore. This theory explores a hypothetical fragment of the Fifth Shard.
Incomplete Convocation Records
- Surviving murals on Elpis hint at a project called **"Penthos"**.
- The term appears only in context with star-encompassing simulations.
- One broken inscription lists **fourteen observers** but only **thirteen outcomes**.
Hypothesis – A Failed Reflection
The Fifth Shard may have:
- Developed a civilization unable to wield dynamis or aether effectively.
- Collapsed before the Ascians could begin a Rejoining.
- Left only **resonant echoes** felt as "bad weather" or subtle mood shifts in other shards.
Modern Echoes
Small anomalies in:
- Certain **Void quests** where enemies seem aware of more than one world.
- A handful of **Allagan data logs** that reference "fivefold sight" but only log thirteen IDs.
These could be hints that the Fifth Shard's data is partially overwritten but not gone, much like a corrupted sector on a crystal drive.
